Liverpool and Manchester City could not be separated at the Etihad as Jurgen Klopp was left the more satisfied.
The visitors made an aggressive start, playing all their frontline forwards in advanced positions in what appeared a 4-2-4 formation.
Liverpool were rewarded with a penalty after 13 minutes after Kyle Walker clipped Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah smashed home from the spot.
Gabriel Jesus then hauled the hosts level with a delightful turn and finish but Kevin De Bruyne missed from the spot after the ball hit Joe Gomez’s hand.
Neither side could find a winner after the break and the result leaves Liverpool in third, one point behind leaders Leicester, while City are left languishing in 11th.

Passing awry early on. Gave away a penalty with a clumsy and needless foul on Mane.

Super turn and clinical finish for his second goal in as many games. Missed a simple header.
